IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS THE FIRST ACTIVITY IN A THREE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP

Fifteen master's and PhD students from Ontario Tech University gained valuable experience in fusion research and the nuclear industry through a week-long visit to Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) in Chalk River, Ontario. This trip was part of a new three-year partnership between the university and CNL, aimed at developing future leaders in nuclear science and engineering.
The program, involving direct engagement with CNL experts and facility tours, provided mentorship and career opportunities, with 11 students offered job interviews. Additionally, the partnership will include a Fall Ideathon at Ontario Tech, focusing on fusion energy solutions, with prizes and further immersive experiences at CNL in 2025.
